Parmentier Arthur is pleased to announce that Rod Mason has joined as a senior valuation consultant following thirteen years with EY in Manchester.
Rod has been a key figure in the tax valuation team at EY for a number of years and previously worked with Stuart Gilham, now Director at Parmentier Arthur, at EY. Rod joined EY in 2007 after previously working at Andersen and Deloitte in the employee share schemes team. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor and has built up significant valuation experience over the past thirteen years in addition to his grounding in accountancy and taxation of employment-related securities.
Rod was an experienced Assistant Director at EY in the Valuation, Modelling and Economics (“VME”) team and worked closely with the Transaction Tax and Reward teams. Clients included family owned business, fast growth tech companies, mid-market business and Private Equity backed companies – ranging from start-ups to multibillion-pound corporations. During his time at EY Rod undertook a large number of valuations of shares, businesses, earn outs, deferred consideration and carried interests for income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax purposes.
Steve Lygo, Managing Director of Parmentier Arthur, commented on the appointment:
“We have seen a steady increase in share incentive scheme valuation work over the last few years and needed to strengthen our senior team to stay on top of it. Rod has a wealth of experience and I am confident he can hit the ground running. Rod’s arrival is great news for Parmentier Arthur and I look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
Stuart Gilham, Director at Parmentier Arthur, commented:
“I am thrilled that Rod has agreed to join Parmentier Arthur and look forward to working with him again. His extensive share valuation experience and common-sense approach is something that we were particularly looking for in a senior hire to help continue to grow the business.
Rod Mason commented:
“It’s great to take on a fresh challenge to build on the experience, knowledge and contacts I’ve gained from working in Big 4 firms over a long period. I look forward to working with Stuart (again), Steve and the rest of the team as we seek to continue the growth of Parmentier Arthur.”
